Office Depot Not selling the best stuff

I bought a chair mat from Office Depot.  A chair mat is the heavy plastic that you can put under your chair to roll around on carpet.  Well, 60 bucks I was getting a good one, you betcha.  8 months later it was all cracked and chipped and literally falling apart.

I emailed Office Depot support and, if I was not satisfied I was suppose to bring it back with in 30 days.  It’s barely been 8 months and it’s falling apart.  The last one I had was less expensive and lasted nearly 5 years.  This is just a heads up…. these depots are getting cheaper but it’s crap.

Needless, I’ll rethink my next purchase from Office Depot.

Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, Inc. Can Opener Model 76500

I couldn’t find anything about the Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, Inc. Can Opener Model 76500 when my wife told me that it stopped working.  I started looking at amazon.com for a new one and it dawned on me that I just bought this thing.  The Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, Inc. Can Opener Model 76500 is the opener that sits on the can and runs around the edge.  That’s the only reason I bought it.

I decided to take it apart to see what was wrong with it.  No trick to it just pull 3 screws from the back.  The contacts were corroded from something that got into the housing.  I ran a small finger nail file between the contacts and after a bit the thing started working.  I’ve included some pictures so you can see the inside and figure out whether it’s something  you’d like to tackle.  The contacts are normally open so what you’re looking at is where you need to file.  Just enough to get the copper to show a little brighter.  Thanks for stopping in.

The contacts are under the little bracket with one screw holding it.

Windows 2000 server – Scheduled Tasks did not run

Some how my scheduled tasks did not run and I recalled I added a new task but entered the wrong password.  I guess after a few times Windows server 2000 quit offering the ‘enter your password’ box.  This stopped everything from running.  I deleted the task and re-added it using the correct password (I guess I’m getting old) and they started running.  Thanks.
