Get Rid of Spam eMail

One of the main reasons you’ll get email spam is because the company that swore to protect your information sells it or gives it away.  Have you ever signed up at a website or several websites and they say your information will not be shared or sold to any one??  All of a sudden your shopping for spam filters and spy wares because your inbox is filled with unwanted emails.

We have away around this.  If you need to sign up for instance Amazon.com, get your site administrator to make you an email address amazon@your-domain.com that forwards to your personal account.  Now if you start receiving email from a foreign indignitary wanting you to cash a check and it was addressed to amazon@your-domain.com then you’ll know who sold your email.

This annoyed me so much because now I have to either change my favorite email address or weed through a 1000 emails a day.  I’ve listed a couple companies that you will have to watch out for.  I will not do business with these folks and I implore you to practice safe sign up.

Thompson Cigars will sell your email or one of the folks working there will give your email to some spam site.

Adobe believe it or not.  You’d think a prominent company like Adobe would keep your private information safe from spammers.  I can’t use the email that I establish my cs3 flash account with.  I have proof if they feel they’ve gotten a bad rap.

At the end of the day you might have 30 forwards but it’s better to know that adobe@your-domain.com is sending you great deals on viagra instead of the monthly news letter.  I deleted the adobe@your-domain.com forward and stopped the spam they were sending me.

Granted most folks keep your email safe.  Only takes one or two.  It’s also good if you like to participate in online surveys.  I tried this once to get a 50″ flat panel.  Instead, I couldn’t hit the delete key fast enough.  It was a cool email address too and I had to delete it.  I didn’t get the big screen either just a whole truck load of spam.

  1. Another company that sells your email address. Do not sign up with Skype using your personal email address unless you want to start receiving anonymous email spam.

I started receiving spam from lightning fast dowloads, hdtv plus, earth release, full hd movies, hdtv for your pc, movie downloads, online tv codes, movie downloads, free video movies at a click…. All right after I signed up for skype. again,

DO NOT USE YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS TO SIGNUP FOR SKYPE.

They sell or give your email address away. I will add the email I received from openoffice incase you have been getting this spam. I’m not sure how you can get around it if you use your personal email address, except, get another email address and never use it to sign up with these people.

  2. Another addition to my list of folks that are selling or giving away your email addresses. Open Office has sold my email address to other people so they can spam my email. I’m not sure why they feel this is a good way to attract customers.

There’s a psychology that comes with receiving spam or unwanted emails. I automatically look at the email with discust, and even if it’s something I can’t live without, I will not buy it from someone that has spammed me.

Open Office is the answer to Microsoft Office. It’s free so I see why they might have to spam people but if I had signed up with my personal email address, I would have a mess. I’m am in the processes of testing this software, hopefully, I’ll have a note about whether it’s even worth downloading.

Just a note, don’t sign up with openoffice with your personal email address. I don’t know how gmail and yahoo would filter the spam.

  3. Okay, I really got annoyed when I got a message to fill out a survey to my lifelock email address. I keep hearing that Life Lock or lifelock, what ever you call them, does not sell your email address. This is completely false. HANSAGCR or HANSA|GCR actually sent me a reminder that I didn’t fill out their survey.

The only way I knew that it was LifeLock or Life Lock is because I set up an email address specifically for them. These folks HANSAGCR or HANSA|GCR sent me a survey to that email address. If lifelock loaned them my email they could have loaned it to other folks.

This is what I’ve been trying to tell folks. Get an ISP (internet service provider) that offers you 5000 email accounts for free. Set up an email for everyone that you do business with. That way if you start getting SPAM you’ll know who gave your email address away.

I’m still getting SPAM from Adobe. If I had given my personal email to Adobe or Life Lock, I would not know who in the world was SPAMMING me.

When they say that they will not sell your information, make sure by making an email address just for them. Then when you start getting spam to that email address, you’ll know who gave your email address away. More on this later.
