Fighting Spam to your eMail
Another addition to my list of folks that are selling or giving away your email addresses. Open Office has sold my email address to other people so they can spam my email. I’m not sure why they feel this is a good way to attracked customers.
There’s a psychology that comes with receiving spam or unwanted emails. I automatically look at the email with discust, and even if it’s something I can’t live without, I will not buy it from someone that has spammed me.
Open Office is the answer to Microsoft Office. It’s free so I see why they might have to spam people but if I had signed up with my personal email address, I would have a mess. I’m am in the processes of testing this software, hopefully, I’ll have a note about whether it’s even worth downloading.
Just a note, don’t sign up with openoffice with your personal email address. I don’t know how gmail and yahoo would filter the spam.
Fighting eMail Spam
Another company that sells your email address. Do not sign up with Skype using your personal email address unless you want to start receiving anonymous email spam.
I started receiving spam from lightning fast dowloads, hdtv plus, earth release, full hd movies, hdtv for your pc, movie downloads, online tv codes, movie downloads, free video movies at a click…. All right after I signed up for skype. again,
DO NOT USE YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS TO SIGNUP FOR SKYPE.
They sell or give your email address away. I will add the email I received from openoffice incase you have been getting this spam. I’m not sure how you can get around it if you use your personal email address, except, get another email address and never use it to sign up with these people.
Eminent Domain
Hi Shep, I couldn’t get in on the chat with the Huntingham…. I wanted to comment about the eminent domain discussions. I think instead of the government dictating the price to buy out our folks or grand folks or me…. I say they (the government) have to rent the property forever. That would give the proprietor a fare income for the rest of their live that they can will on down to the grand kids.
It will either slow down the government taking property or slow down giving the government the right to kick us to the side just for their own benefit. There’s a reason folks work hard to own property, they don’t need the government comin’ in a takin’ it no matter what the reason.
I’d be curious what the Judge had to say on this. I don’t believe there is any reason the government should be able to take away someone’s hard earn possessions….. if we want to sell and be happy with the sale…. everyone makes out, otherwise…. pay the rent.
Streets and Trips 2010 Send To option is greyed out
I saw a post addressing this issue with a reference to win.ini and entering the following :

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. The only thing that did work was to install Microsoft Office Outlook. Microsoft at it again. The work around of course is to save the map and email the file. It is more convenient to use the Send To : Mail Recipient. Oh well.
