Stamps or shipping labels on Line

I decided to rewrite my post about online stamps and shipping labels.  I was looking to cut business costs.  We used stamps.com for a while.  It was convenient because we didn’t have to run to the post office to buy stamps.  Then tough times, we had to cut out the costs.  We didn’t have a very easy time canceling our account with stamps.com, but that is another story to be filed in another category.

If you sign up for an account (free) at USPS.com you can buy stamps and shipping labels online and have them delivered the next day by your letter carrier.  Printing labels is easy at USPS.com once you get the hang of it and you don’t have to pay a monthly fee.  The local post office will even make a special trip out to pickup your package.  I just give mine to the regular mail delivery person.  You don’t have to pay the middle man by going directly to USPS.com.  Great cost cutting ideas.

Stamps or shipping labels on Line

So, I was listening to Rush today as I always do this time of day and I heard a commercial for stamps dot com.  Well, not just because I had an issue with stamps dot com, but I thought I’d throw it out there, you can buy stamps on line from the post office and have them delivered the next day by your mail person.  You can print out shipping labels and get a special pickup by the post office.  That means, you don’t have to pay the middle man at stamps dot com.  Try it, go to USPS.com.  You can do it all online with out running to the post office and you don’t have to be big business.  I’m not getting anything for this public service announcement.

That’s USPS.com

MIDWEST Appliance Parts another Bad company

Buyers beware.  eBay seller Midwest Appliance Parts sells defective parts.  Make sure you check out each part before you leave feed back.  You will have a hard time getting a refund or replacement part.  Defective inlet port.  Could not get the fitting to tighten.  Water all over the kitchen.  I should have checked out the Better Business Bureau in Chicago.  Another Bad Company in Chicago.  Unbelievable.

Midwest Appliance Parts has a D+ rating and they are not a BBB accredited business.

IExplorer starts loading different websites

My wifes computer started freezing with high CPU but I couldn’t figure out what was hogging it.  I went to Google to search the symptom and IExplorer started loading different websites.  I didn’t waste anytime shutting down the browser.  One thing you should immediately do when ever this happens.  Change the default website to something static like recomrealty.com (opportune plug).

I started IExplorer again which goes to her default web site RecomRealty.com.  From there I checked out the Manage Add-ons link under tools.  It showed the following unfamiliar add-ons enabled:

geBtSLBr.dll

gqhywr.dll

URqQKLcB.dll

I tried to disable them but they kept coming back.  I couldn’t delete them from windows/system32 in regular mode (Windows XP Pro) or safe mode.  One way to get rid of them – boot like your installing Windows XP Pro.  Go to Repair installation and into the windows/system32 directory.  Delete those DLLS.  Exit repair and boot normally.  Open regedit and search for the DLLs in question and delete them.  Search by the name without the extension.   You have to be carefull here.  The entries under local_machine are critical to machine operation so you can check a good machine or come back here for the exact entries to delete.  I’m writing this from memory which isn’t that great.

You can delete the entries that look similar to {10072CEC-8CC1-11D1-986E-0…… but when you get to local_machine BE CAREFULL.  I’ll try to duplicate it tomorrow and have more detailed instructions.

We could not find anything on this so it’s a new adware, virus, or malware.  Why do people do this??  Just plain mean man.
